Holy Trinity Day celebrated the fact that our 立彩彩票手机app下载 was saved from closure in 2012. Parents come together to create an unforgettable experience for the children, staff, and our community visitors - incredible tablescapes, decorations, food treats, and costumes!
This year marks Mrs. Genevieve Haney's 25th year as our beloved Fine Arts teacher. The Holy Trinity School community, along with several members of Mrs. Haney's family, celebrated her dedication to Catholic education at First Friday Mass. Mrs. Haney has inspired, encouraged, and motivated countless students through her dedication as an educator. We are so grateful and blessed to have Mrs. Haney as part of the Holy Trinity School Family!
Our 4th Grade students wrote a heartfelt "Dear My ______" message to a special person in their life. Their book was published and each student has received a copy. Miss Fichter, our 4th Grade teacher, hosted a tea party so the students could share their messages and illustrations with the subject of their essay. What a special event for all involved!
Congratulations to this year's Invention Convention winners from Grade 5: 1st Place - "The Duo Cup" (Thomas Reynolds); 2nd Place - "Funnel Vision" (Henry Payne and Ryan Yura); 3rd Place - "The Life-Saving Skirt and Belt" (Savannah Pierre and Troi Moore-Blake); Students' Choice - "The Movie Marathon Helper" (Anabelle Hunnicutt and Gabriella Velez). To mark the 100th Day of School, our Kindergarten teachers were replaced for the day by their 100-year-old counterparts, Miss Pearl and Miss Helen. The students had an awesome day celebrating all things 100!
Congratulations to the winners of the Grades 5 to 8 Catholic Schools Week 立彩彩票手机app下载 Religion Bowl! The students were so well-prepared and had studied so hard that they exhausted all questions posed to them - how wonderful to know your faith so well! Kara Loeffler (Grade 5), Abigail Lobis and Sophie Loeffler (tied in Grade 6), Jolene Morath (Grade 7), and Dakota Poland (Grade 8) were the overall classroom winners.
Our faculty and staff spent Valentine's Day on retreat at the St. Rita of Cascia Shrine in South Philadelphia. The day was spent in prayer and reflection, with "Catholic Quizzo" thrown in for some fun. Spending time together to pray and learn is always appreciated by our staff, and allows all to return to the students refreshed.
Thank you to all the very special people who attended Grandpals' Day - a wonderful event that allows our students to share their 立彩彩票手机app下载 with their loved ones! From the Grandpals who danced in the cafeteria, to those who tried to "escape" the 5th Grade classroom, to the trivia whizzes in 8th Grade, a good time was had by all!
Students in Kindergarten through Grade 2 were visited by Officer John Yeager of the Falls Township Police Department as part of the Cops 'n' Kids of the Delaware Valley literacy program. The students were read to by program volunteers and got to choose a book to have autographed by Officer Yeager that they will add to their 立彩彩票手机app下载 libraries. Once again, WPVI Action News was there to cover it all! Thank you to Mrs. Raudenbush for coordinating this visit and to the volunteers from the AAUW (American Association of University Women) Makefield Area Branch who brought the program to Holy Trinity School again this year.
What a wonderful evening showcasing so many reasons why Holy Trinity School is special! A French lesson from our Kindergarteners, Ireland facts and Irish dancing by our Grade 1 students, a 立彩彩票手机app下载 choir performance, and a fabulous Multicultural Night event sponsored by our families! Also happening was the wrap-up of the Scholastic Bookfair and Faculty Carnival of Prizes - both a huge success once again this year! All this and another visit from our friends at Action News, who came to document the evening's events! Thank you to all who contributed to making the night so exciting!
The hallways of Holy Trinity School were filled with famous Americans - from Thurgood Marhsall and Yogi Bera to Christa McAuliffe and Grace Kelly, students researched the life of a famous American and then "became" them to share their information with the rest of the student body. Erin Brockovich, Andrew Carnegie, Maria Tallchief, Billie Jean King, and Stan Lee were also represented, among others.
Our Prayer Partners - and, in some cases, Prayer Trios - shared in fun activities in yet another Catholic Schools Week celebration! Irish Potato making, donut decorating, and craft mosaics were just a few ways our students worked together. At Holy Trinity, Grades 1 and 8 and Grades 2 and 6 students are partnered, while Kindergarteners are in trios with Grades 7 and 3. PreK students are partners with students in Grades 4 and 5. The Prayer Partners sit together at First Friday Mass, get together for Christmas activities, perform Lenten service together, and find other ways to spend time with each other throughout the year.
Students in Grades 5-8 have been preparing for this first-ever competition by excitedly studying faith-based facts prepared for them by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Office of Catholic Education! Preliminary "bees" have been conducted in individual classrooms, and the pool of student contestants has been narrowed to five from each grade level. Prizes will be awarded to the finalists!
In honor of Student Appreciation Day, Holy Trinity students were treated to special surprises from the administration and 立彩彩票手机app下载 & School Association. During snack recess, all students received a soft pretzel from the 立彩彩票手机app下载 & School Association - yum! Then, our Primary Unit friends in PreK to Grade 2 enjoyed a very exciting interactive show by "Radioactive Rick" of the Mad Scientists of West New Jersey, while our Grade 3 to 8 立彩彩票手机app下载rooms enjoyed time in the Tri-State Gamerz video game truck! Best of all, students got to "dress down" for the day, and will have no 立彩彩票手机app下载work assigned for the evening!
Our Junior High students participated in athletic competitions to officially kick-off their month-long Academic Olympics competition. Student have been grouped within their grade levels and will have their team's academic scores tracked and tallied for the duration of the Olympic event. The winning "countries" will be announced at the Second Trimester Awards Assembly in March.
Holy Trinity students in PreKindergarten through Grade 8 pondered the countless possibilities available to them as they explored various future careers. Our PreK students came to 立彩彩票手机app下载 "dressed-up" to portray what they would like to be when they grow up, and shared their thoughts with their classmates and teachers (on the microphone!) in the Music and Movement Room of the Children's Cottage. Students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 enjoyed presentations from family members who visited Holy Trinity to demonstrate their careers. Our Junior High Unit students participated in online career exploration activities - interest and skill assessment surveys - that opened their eyes to a variety of career "clusters". Students then researched careers of interest to them to which they were matched by the questionnaires results.
